Classic Crunchy Jalapeno Poppers
Jalapeno poppers speak to my soul! They’re a favorite appetizer along with chips, queso and salsa at my house. My favorite thing they typically go with would definitely be tacos, but really even for more classic get together food like burgers they’re a great way to welcome in your guests. It really compliments chilled appetizers nicely and the best part is, they only take 20 minutes to make. When you’re crunched for time, this is a GODSEND! That’s why I wanted to share with you today how to make Classic Crunchy Jalapeno Poppers.
You’ll begin by slicing the decapitating jalapenos and then slicing them lengthwise. Try to do it down the center so you have good boats to load the goods in!
Next work on pulling most of the obvious veins and seeds out (so you don’t make your guests breathe fire).
Place them onto a greased cookie sheet.
Take the softened cream cheese and use a spoon to serve it into the jalapeno boats.
Add enough grated cheese to cover the top of the cream cheese layer.
Season them with garlic salt.
Top these with corn flakes (this is what makes them crunchy). pop them in the oven to bake for about 15 minutes.
Bam, you’ve got a killer appetizer just like that!
It’ll take awhile for them to cool down but then you can enjoy them. I recommend leaving them on the cookie sheet so that they stay warm for as long as possible.
What are you cooking for Superbowl Sunday?
